Lesson 19 of 19

Use and manage worked examples

Explore read-only teaching examples and return to the same lesson. Keep sample records and sample management separate from your organisation’s real work.

This lesson concerns artificial intelligence (AI) governance: how your organisation assigns responsibility, checks AI use and records decisions and follow-up. AI Governance keeps these records; it does not operate the external AI tool for you.

At the end of this lesson

  • Recognise read-only fictional sample records.
  • Navigate from a lesson to a chosen example and back.
  • Explain bounded removal/restoration without confusing samples with own work.

Before you begin

This lesson is for all learners; administrators for example management. You can read and complete the paper activity without an account.

Reading an in-app example needs sign-in and visibility of that sample. Managing removal or restoration needs an administrator. No removal is needed to complete this lesson. If access is blocked, record your proposed response in your notes and ask the responsible administrator to check access.

Key ideas

Sample responsibility does not create real membership or external access. Restoring an authored example is different from recovering a live assessment.

Follow these steps

1. Identify the sample

Check the worked-example label and business name. These are fictional teaching records, separate from your organisation’s own use cases and totals.

Check the result: You know whether the page is a sample or your organisation’s work.

2. Read within its limits

The example is read-only. A named sample owner creates no real membership, editing rights or external access for your organisation.

Check the result: The story’s recommendation is not your organisation’s permission.

3. Open a chapter

Use an optional example link from a lesson. Sign in if asked. The known lesson identity travels with the chapter link through the supported return journey.

Check the result: The chapter is connected to the intended lesson without choosing a business first.

4. Return to the lesson

Use Back to lesson. The destination should be the same generic topic. Refreshing or moving between chapters must not turn a sample into customer work.

Check the result: You can resume the shared course at the right lesson.

5. Review management impact

An administrator opens Manage worked example for a selected sample and reads the removal-impact preview. Resolve customer-linked blockers before any authorised confirmation.

Check the result: The proposed removal is limited to the named example. No removal is needed for learning.

6. Understand restoration

Supported restoration rebuilds that version’s authored sample with its original sample record identities and retained history. It does not recover a previous live assessment.

Check the result: You can explain what restoration can and cannot restore.

7. Keep external work separate

Sample removal and restoration do not operate or delete the real AI product. Your organisation’s assessments and decisions require their own records and permissions.

Check the result: The sample-management action is not mistaken for a real operational change.

Practise

Paper activity — fictional information

'You are reading a record labelled as a worked example. It names an accountable owner and shows a saved recommendation.' Explain what these facts imply about your own organisation's accounts and permission.

Write your response in your own notes before opening the answer. You do not need to sign in, change records or run an assessment.

Check your understanding

Does the sample owner or recommendation create real membership or approval for your use case?

Check your answer

No. They are fictional teaching records. Your organisation's own membership, use-case assignments, assessment basis and human decision remain separate. Reread steps 1–2 if sample records are treated as customer work.

For the activity, neither the sample owner nor the sample recommendation changes your organisation’s membership or permission. Those require your own saved assignments and responsible decision. Sample restoration is not live-assessment recovery.

Check your work

  • Sample and own records are distinguished.
  • The optional chapter/return journey is understood.
  • Removal/restoration limits are explained.
