Lesson 18 of 19
Understand allowance and get help
Find your organisation’s current assessment allowance and the supported help route. Distinguish reading and preparation from report generation.
This lesson concerns artificial intelligence (AI) governance: how your organisation assigns responsibility, checks AI use and records decisions and follow-up. AI Governance keeps these records; it does not operate the external AI tool for you.
At the end of this lesson
- Distinguish reading/preparation from report generation.
- Check current organisation allowance rather than assume a quota.
- Identify a useful supported help request.
Before you begin
This lesson is for administrators and assessment owners. You can read and complete the paper activity without an account.
For optional workplace practice, sign in to the intended organisation. Read the actual allowance response before requesting generation. No support contact or generation is required for learning. If access is blocked, record your proposed response in your notes and ask the responsible administrator to check access.
Key ideas
Allowance and permission to use the AI tool are different. Fictional input does not make a real generation attempt free.
Follow these steps
1. Open the allowance page
In your workspace, open Assessment allowance and support. Allowance is the organisation’s ability to request reports; it is not permission to operate an AI tool.
Check the result: The intended organisation’s actual allowance is displayed.
2. Read the actual state
Wait for loading to finish. If allowance is unavailable, retry the supported request or seek help. Do not interpret loading as zero, unlimited allowance or proof that no records exist.
Check the result: You can distinguish an actual remaining allowance from an unavailable response.
3. Separate reading from generation
Public lessons, read-only worked examples and opening saved reports do not generate a new assessment. Normal permitted preparation can continue without requesting reports.
Check the result: You know which activities are reading or preparation.
4. Identify the final action
In the eleven-step flow, Approve plan and start saves the plan and advances. The final Create assessment reports action requests generation after saved-step, access and allowance checks.
Check the result: You recognise the actual generation boundary. Fictional inputs do not make a real generation request free.
5. Use supported recovery
For an interrupted saved assessment, return to that same assessment and its recovery action. Try creating reports again retries the saved report command. Do not create a duplicate to evade a block.
Check the result: The original run and its saved basis remain the recovery context. No automatic refund is promised.
6. Prepare a help request
Use Contact ZH about organisation access when relevant. Include the blocked task and the information listed next. Sending a request is optional and is not required to finish this lesson.
Check the result: You know the supported route rather than an invented response-time promise.
7. Include useful facts
Describe the task, blocked action, displayed error, date/time and relevant saved-record link. Omit passwords and unnecessary personal information.
Check the result: The request explains the issue without exposing unrelated information.
Practise
Paper activity — fictional information
'Report generation is unavailable, but your task scope and supplier checks still need work.' Write two useful preparation actions and the information to include in a support request.
Write your response in your own notes before opening the answer. You do not need to sign in, change records or run an assessment.
Check your understanding
Will opening a saved report or a public lesson use a new generation attempt?
Check your answer
No. Those are reading actions. Actual report generation follows the current allowance rules. Checking task scope and documenting supplier gaps can continue where permitted. Reread steps 3–5 if all workspace activity is assumed to consume attempts.
For the activity, clarify the task scope and document the unresolved supplier checks. A help request should state the blocked generation action, error text, time and relevant saved-record link. Do not include passwords.
Check your work
- Reading and generation are distinguished.
- The actual allowance/blocked state can be located.
- A useful request follows the supported route.
